Peter Sagan wins his third consecutive World Cup

Peter Sagan has made history again. Slovak has become The first cyclist to win three world championships on a consecutive way. Since 1927, the date on which the test was established, no other corridor had dressed the rainbow jersey in three editions in a row. Sagan exceeded a tight sprint to the Norwegian Aleksander Kristoff after 6 hours, 28 minutes and 11 seconds to complete the 2675 kilometers arranged by the ICU between the towns of Rong and Bergen (Norway). The Australian Michael Mathews closed the podium in third position. With this victory Peter Sagan becomes the first cyclist in history to win the World Cycling World Cup three consecutive years. Thus surpasses the Belgians George Ronsse (1928 and 1929), Rik Van Steenbergen (1956 and 1957) and Rik Van Looy (1960 and 1961), and the Italians Gianni Bugno (1991 and 1992) and Paolo Bettini (2006 and 2007). All of them won the Cycling World Championship on Route two years in a row. There are only four runners, in addition to the Slovak, who have won three Cycling World Cups. None of them succeeded in consecutive years and none of them are still active: Alfredo Binta, Rik Van Steenbergen, Óscar Freire and Eddy Merckx. Peter Sagan thus becomes the fifth great. To win the World Cup again in the coming years, Sagan would become a more laureate corridor in the history of the test. If you also get it in 2018, you would beat your own record of consecutive victories. There is no doubt that Peter Sagan is one of the most complete cyclists in the history of this sport. This is demonstrated not only its record -with more than 100 wins and 200 podiums as a professional -but its domain and skill on the bicycle in different land.
