Mario Mola does it again: triathlon world champion for the second consecutive year

Mario Mola has done it again. The Balearic triathlete conquered last weekend the champion of the triathlon world for the second consecutive year. The two -time champion of the world was only missing with being fifth in the last test of the circuit, held in Rotterdam. And Mola left no room for surprises, entering the finish line. There is no doubt that Mario Mola has been the absolute dominator of this 2017 World Championship. Mallorcan has won four of the nine tests that make up the world series and has been a podium in another. The runner -up has been for Javier Gómez Noya, who appeared in Rotterdam just a few days after winning the Ironman Middle World Championship. The Spanish triathlon is today the reference at the global level. This is reflected in the palmarés of the last five editions of the World Cup, with 3 titles for Gómez Noya (2013, 2014 and 2015), 2 for Mario Mola (2016 and 2017) and five other podiums, including the third place of Fernando Alarza the year the year past.
