The Province of Pontevedra, in southwest Galicia, is one of the smallest in Spain, with just 4,500 km square surface. But it is a sufficient extension to find beautiful routes of Mountain Bike and very attractive places, both on the coast, with the Baixas and protagonists, and inside.
In this province you can find very diverse routes with a different claim, route and landscape. In them you can discover unique coast environments such as the Ría de Arousa, millenary mountains full of mysticism such as Mount Seixo or the lush forests of the Monteferro Peninsula, near Vigo, which has become a paradise for the toufts of the area .
ROSA DE AROUUSA
The Ria de Aruous is the largest of all Galicia. It is part of the so -called Rías Baixas and is located between the wall of walls and the estuary of Pontevedra. On this route we travel the southeast coast of the estuary, leaving at the port of Cambados, arriving to Pereiro Beach and returning along the same route to Cambados.
On the way, fundamentally flat, some of the beaches of the estuary are visited, such as Correlo, Pradeira or Fontiña, seeing the island of La Toja and the town of O Grove.
Mount Seixo Route
Mount Seixo is located in A Lama. From Pontevedra they separate us almost 40 kilometers from the top of this mountain loaded with mysticism, in whose high the Porta do Alén is located. It is a set of rocks that apparently form a megalithic set made thousands of years ago -although this has not yet been confirmed.
The route begins and ends in Pontevedra and is directed in the east direction to the municipality of A Lama, where the ascent to the mountain, 5 kilometers. Once we crowned in the Porta do Alén, we start a track decline without much technical difficulty, embarking on the way back in the direction of Surortos to Pontevedra.
Enduro Monteferro
In the vicinity of Vigo, specifically in the municipality of Nigrán, is the coastal peninsula of Monteferro. An enclave chosen by the
RIDERS premises to descend with their enduro bikes and descent. Most of this peninsula is forest, which surround the funny and leaps for the enjoyment of any
biker Avid of adrenaline.
This route that we propose has a moderate technical level. The descents are not especially hard or too technical, but we will have to have a certain level practicing trail or enduro. The route consists of five short chained descents, of no more than a kilometer, with their respective sections of rise and link.
