Fabian Cancellara will participate in Gavá's triathlon
Fabian Cancellara has been one of the great cyclists of recent years. His record leaves no doubt: 4 times world champion counterreloj, two gold medals in the olompicos, 8 stage victories in the Tour de France, 3 Paris-Roubaix, 3 Tours of Flanders ...
After retiring as a professional cyclist last season, the Swiss seems willing to continue adding victories in another sport: triathlon. Cancellara has confirmed that it will compete on September 24 at the Gavá triathlon within the Sprint distance. He will do it as a member of the Win4youth team.
Since his retirement a few months ago, Cancellara has focused on triathlon. Not only as a competitor, but also as an entrepreneur. The Swiss is one of those responsible for the recovery of the Triathlon Tristar Series, a circuit that came to celebrate 25 events a year and that has been without sponsors in the last four seasons. The intention of Cancellara is to boost a new triathlon format through the tristar series consisting of 1 kilometer of swimming, 100 km of cycling and 10 km of staining.
On September 3, he will participate in the Rorschach tristar, where he will test this new distance. On September 24 he will take the departure in the Triathlon of Gavá that will be played in Catalonia. In this way Fabian Cancellara joins the list of former professional athletes from other disciplines who venture to try in the triathlon.
