Scott Plasma: the futuristic design that never made it to production

Wheels with a more aggressive aerodynamic profile, cutting-edge lines, and an aesthetic that looks straight out of a science fiction movie. This is the vision that designer Julien Delcambre had for the Scott Plasma, a bike that redefines the standards of high-performance cycling.

Between 2010 and 2014, Delcambre worked as a designer for Scott Bikes, with the main task of developing a new frame with full suspension for 27.5-inch mountain bikes. However, his creativity was not limited to just MTBs, and in his spare time he explored innovative concepts for other models of the brand, including the Plasma, the benchmark for aero road bikes from Scott.

In his Behance gallery, Delcambre shares his interpretation of the Scott Plasma, with a design that breaks the mold and bets on extreme aerodynamics. Although his concept never reached the production stage, it represents a fascinating glimpse of what the future of competitive cycling could be.

Will Scott dare to turn this design into reality? Although for now it remains a conceptual project, the world of road bikes is constantly evolving, with advances in carbon, aerodynamic geometry, and integration technologies that could make these kinds of innovations arrive sooner than we imagine. 🚴‍♂️💨
