Valsaín - La Granja
From Segovia it is possible to visit the north face of the Sierra de Guadarrama without covering great distances. In addition, we will visit places of great scenic and cultural interest, such as the Valsaín dam, the Cueva del Monje cave in the foothills of the mountains, or the Royal Site of La Granja, with the spectacular 18th-century Royal Palace. A route of moderate physical and technical level, best done in autumn or spring.

Senda del Ingeniero
An essential route for Segovian bikers and for anyone who comes with their bike to the Sierra de Guadarrama. The Senda del Ingeniero is one of the most attractive singletracks in the area. A pure trail trail in the heart of the mountains, surrounded by pine forests and with constant changes in slope, curves, and short climbs. The route starts in San Rafael, following the Cañada Real Leonesa through the Sierra, heading south. The path climbs up to Cueva Valiente, at 1,800 meters of altitude, and then begins the descent along the Senda del Ingeniero. It is not a steep descent and, in addition, there are several short climbs that break up the rhythm of the downhill. But it is a section that guarantees great fun.

Hoces del Río Riaza Route
Another purely trail route through the north of the province, crossing the Hoces del Río Riaza Natural Park. The route is maintained and guided by the BTT route center of La Serrezuela to promote the surroundings of the gorges, which are deep canyons and meanders of great scenic value and where birds such as the griffon vulture nest. The route is a leg-breaker, with a second part in which two long and tough climbs follow one after the other, reaching up to 1,250 meters of altitude. From that point, called Cerro Lucas, a fast 10-kilometer descent begins, returning to the starting point, the small town of Montejo de la Vega. It is necessary to request authorization to ride through the sections in the natural park if you plan to do the route between January 1 and July 31.

Sierra de Ayllón Route
At the border crossing between Segovia, Madrid, and Guadalajara lies the Sierra de Ayllón, one of the highest mountain ranges in the Central System, with peaks above 2,000 meters. On this route with significant elevation gain, we climb up to an altitude of 1,900 meters at the summit of the Puerto de la Quesera. Some kilometers are covered on the road, but once you enter the high mountain trails of the sierra, you'll forget the boredom of the asphalt. The route features two long descents of 8 and 5 kilometers with gentle slopes on fully rideable trails. You only need to pay attention to some rocky sections and crossing a few streams. It is recommended to do this route in autumn, spring, or summer. In winter, much of the route will be covered by snow.
