The province of Pontevedra, in the southwest of Galicia, is an ideal destination for cycling enthusiasts, offering endless options both for those who enjoy road bikes and for fans of mountain bikes. Despite being one of the smallest provinces in Spain, with barely 4,500 km², its geographical diversity allows you to travel through spectacular landscapes, from the winding coastal roads of the Rías Baixas to the mountain trails that cross lush forests and ancient hills.
If you prefer asphalt, Pontevedra offers road cycling routes with stunning views of the Ría de Arousa, with roads winding between vineyards and small fishing villages. For those looking for a challenge on tougher terrain, the province has mountain passes and climbs ideal for training endurance and technique.

On the other hand, if you are a mountain bike fan, here you will find true paradises for the XC, trail or enduro disciplines. Destinations such as Monte Seixo, with its routes full of history and mystical landscapes, or the Monteferro peninsula, near Vigo, which has become a reference point for enduro riders thanks to its spectacular descents and technical trails.
Whether on a mountain bike exploring natural trails or on a road bike riding along the coast, Pontevedra offers routes for all levels and preferences. An essential destination for those seeking to enjoy cycling in an incomparable setting.
Ría de Arousa Route
The Ría de Arousa is the largest of all the rías in Galicia. It is part of the so-called Rías Baixas and is located between the Ría de Muros and the Ría de Pontevedra. On this route, we travel along the southeast coast of the ría, starting at the port of Cambados, reaching the beach of Pereiro, and returning along the same route to Cambados. Along the way, which is mostly flat, you visit some of the beaches of the ría, such as Correlo, Pradeira, or Fontiña, seeing the island of La Toja and the town of O Grove in the distance.

Monte Seixo Route
Monte Seixo is located in A Lama. From Pontevedra, we are almost 40 kilometers away from the summit of this mystical mountain, at the top of which is the Porta do Alén. This is a group of rocks that apparently form a megalithic set built thousands of years ago—although this has not yet been confirmed. The route starts and ends in Pontevedra and heads east towards the municipality of A Lama, where the 5-kilometer ascent of the mountain begins. Once we reach the top at Porta do Alén, we begin a descent along a trail without much technical difficulty, starting the return journey southwest back to Pontevedra.

- Type: XC Marathon
- Distance: 74.1 kilometers

Enduro Monteferro
Near Vigo, specifically in the municipality of Nigrán, is the coastal peninsula of Monteferro. A spot chosen by local riders to descend with their enduro and downhill bikes. Most of this peninsula is forest, which surrounds the fun banked trails and jumps for the enjoyment of any biker eager for adrenaline. This route we suggest has a moderate technical level. The descents are not especially tough or very technical, but you should have a certain level of experience in Trail or Enduro. The route consists of five short linked descents, no more than one kilometer each, with their respective climbs and connecting sections.
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Type: Trail / Enduro
- Distance: 23.3 kilometers
