Routes to go by mountain bike in the province of Lugo

Lugo keeps the entire essence of Galicia in its more than 9,000 square km of surface, being the largest province of the Galician community. In Lugo it is advisable to make a bicycle route through its coast, steep and full of beaches of great beauty, such as the cathedrals. You can also explore its interior, with magnificent places of the Galician rural, small villages, ancient Celtic castros. In the south, already bordering on Ourense, it is possible to venture by mountain bike through the Sil's cannons, spectacular cuts that rise on this tributary of the Miño River. Lugo is also a step of the Camino de Santiago, so there are numerous bike itineraries and stages that we can perform for its territory if we intend to complete the way to Santiago de Compostela.

Cantabrian Way Route

A beautiful and very interesting tour of the Lucense coast, with some enclaves of special interest such as the beach of the Ribadeo Cathedrals, the Foz estuary and the rest of the beaches, cliffs, old Celtic castros and many more surprises. The route is broken with continuous gobles and low. The toughest part of the route is the section of the Foz estuary, from kilometer 30 to 40.

Lagos de Teixeiro Route

A very attractive bike exit with start and end in the city of Lugo. At the height of kilometer 15 we arrive at Los Lagos de Teixeiro, a recreational area with ponds surrounded by lush forests where it is forced to make a stop to replenish strength or take pictures. The journey continues in a southeast direction after having climbed into the wind farm of the Sierra de Monciro and returning west to Lugo. The route runs mostly along forest tracks, although there are sections of roads covered with vegetation where more care will have to be taken. The route is affordable in the physical and technical, with sections of great natural beauty and some funny descent paths.

SIL Canyon Route

With departure in Monforte de Lemos, the route takes southern direction to go to the Sil River cannons, one of the most impressive river and natural places in Galicia. The Sil River forms a deep cannon in its channel that is worth admiring from the many enabled viewpoints. The barrel viewer is 20 kilometers from Monforte, which will be made mostly in climb. The rest of the route is a favorable land back to Monforte de Lemos.
