Serranía de Cuenca

Route to discover the surroundings of the city of Cuenca and its famous mountain range. We ride along the trails of the Júcar and Huécar gorges, the rivers that cross the Ciudad Encantada, venturing into the mountains via the singletrack of the Senda de los Chorros or the Senda del Barranco de la Hoya Negra. The route has three significant climbs: the first at Cerro de San Cristóbal, right after leaving Cuenca; the second at kilometer 28, at Cerro de la Calzadilla; and the third and last at Cerro Loboso.

Source of the Cuervo River

The source of the Cuervo River is declared a Natural Monument. It is one of the most spectacular springs in all of Spain, which can be easily accessed by mountain bike. Starting and ending in the town of Tragacete, the route consists mainly of track and forest road, with very few technical sections except for some cobbled climbs. In addition to the spring’s waterfalls, you cross some of the characteristic gorges and cliffs of the Serranía de Cuenca.

Alarcón - Hoces de Júcar

Alarcón is one of the towns in the province of Cuenca declared a Historic-Artistic Site and one of the cycling destinations we recommend if you want to visit the province by bike. Its famous castle-fortress of Arab origin, which dominates the town from a hill, is the starting point of this route through the prominent Hoces del Júcar, with sections of continuous ups and downs around the Picazo reservoir and the tough final climb to reach the walled area of Alarcón.
