Alicante is a province that breathes cycling in every corner. It has been the birthplace of great riders and professional teams and, thanks to its varied terrain, has become a benchmark destination for training both on mountain bikes and on road bikes.
What makes Alicante special is the combination of mountain and coast within just a few kilometers, allowing you to enjoy routes with demanding elevation gains or gentler rides with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. In addition, its mild climate all year round means that there is no need to wait until spring to enjoy its routes.
If mountain biking is your thing, the interior of the province offers a multitude of routes through the mountains of Alcoy and Ibi, with technical and challenging trails. For those who prefer more accessible routes but with great scenic value, the areas of Vinalopó, Orihuela, and La Marina Alta stand out, where you can ride paths among rice fields or forest tracks surrounded by nature.
On the other hand, road cyclists will find in Alicante a true paradise, with iconic climbs and excellently maintained roads that have been chosen by professional teams for their training. Destinations such as Benidorm, La Nucía, or the coastal routes are perfect for enjoying long days on the asphalt with the sea as a backdrop.
Whether on a mountain bike or a road bike, Alicante offers options for all levels and styles. If you are looking for a place to ride without worrying about the weather and with spectacular routes, this province is the ideal destination.
